Elizabethe and I spent most of the day working on the garden. She worked on the dirt inside the tires, and I worked on pulling the big weeds, spraying Round-Up, and whacking down tall grass.
We took a break to go to Lowe’s and the nursery to get some plants. We got some tomato, cucumber, bell peppers, dill, basil, cilantro, zucchini and eggplant plants. We also got a huge tub of pre-emergent and a cordless hedge trimmer.

Growing Veggies
After a lunch break, we stuck the new plants in the ground. There is still room for more, we just need to finish the weeding and move some more dirt in to the tires. (Oh, we use tires to (1) control the weeds around the plant, and (2) because they collect the heat and help plants like tomatoes and peppers grow bigger and faster.)
